Here is a list of FPGA boards I own
  • Avnet Xilinx® Spartan®-3 Evaluation Kit using a XC3S1500 device - This board is in the format of a PCI peripheral card. I own the following addons for this card: Communications Memory Module, AvBus Flash Module, AvBus SDRAM Module. I am disappointed to see that Avnet have removed these products from their website, and I find myself missing PDF files of the docs for Communication/Memory module. :/ The Communications Module contains SDRAM and Flash, making the other two somewhat redundant, but that's OK as you can't connect them both to the main PCI card at the same time anyway. Wish I'd seen the Communications Module before I ordered the other two, but at least they were not horrendously expensive.
  • Terasic/Altera DE1 using Cyclone II 2C20 FPGA with 20000 LEs. This board has a port of the open-source Minimig design I'd like to tinker with.
  • Nexys 2 using Spartan-3E FPGA, 500K to match what was used for the first FPGA/VHDL course at Johns Hopkins University. I took that class Spring 2012.
  • ZedBoard revD has a Xilinx Zynq-7000 revD All Programmable SoC XC7Z020-CLG484-1 chip, with is an FPGA with a dual-core ARM hardwired CPU inside. Or an ARM dual-core CPU with an FPGA tacked on the side, whichever you prefer. I had a brief exposure to Zed during the second FPGA course at Johns Hopkins, SoC FPGA Design Lab in Fall 2013. I understand the rest of this course will likely be ported from Atlys to ZedBoard.
  • Terasic/Altera DE1-SOC revD is a combination ARM+FPGA device using Cyclone V SoC 5CSEMA5F31C6
  • Terasic/Altera/Arrow SOCkit is another combination ARM/FPGA device using Cyclone V SX SoC—5CSXFC6D6F31C8NES

FPGA boards I would like to but do not own (doesn't mean I'll ever get them):
